Saturday night at the NCLR 30th anniversary bash, they showed a short history-of documentary that included, among other things, the scene of Phylis Lyon and Del Martin, together for FIFTY! FUCKING! YEARS!, being married in San Francisco City Hall on Feb. 12, '04.

They've been committed to each other for longer than I've been alive, five times as long as Lexi & I have been together. I seriously got all weepy watching that moment. Yes, I am a big, sentimental moosh.

If your marriage is threatened by two women who've stayed a couple for 50 years getting married... your marriage sucks to start with.

I was going to write something angry and self-righteous sounding about basic human rights and hateful, cruel bigotry wrapped up in cherry-picked religiosity in this country, but I had good a night and made pretty decent tips off of happy dykes all tarted up to party.

Fifty fucking years.
